artist: Vis-a-Vis

song: Obi Agye Me Dofo

I've decided that in the next life I'm coming back as a member of Vis-a-Vis.

My neighbors have been hearing this track all day so I figured I'd broadcast it to the world. These guys are great IMHO.

For those interested, this song is contained on the CD "Ghana Special: Modern Highlife, Afro Sounds and Ghanaian Blues 1961-91" which is currently available commercially. (However, a quick search of blogspot does show that a couple of blogs still have it up as of this posting date...)

Hi Brian. Looking at the guys in the pictures and listening to their music, for me, conjures up images of all night shows in the dark smoke filled clubs of Lagos, Nigeria. One can only imagine the stories those guys could tell..

Back in the 70's I actually wore bell bottom pants and had the long hair etc.. I never wore the platform shoes though. Too many people were breaking their ankles. But to have the chance to fly through time and step into one of those clubs... oh my, yes

I wouldn't worry about copyright infringement since it's impossible to find this music other than the Ghana Sounds track. I'm lucky enough to own this LP but to everyone else out there, this would be a near impossible find. What a shame that this music is pretty much lost to a few lucky (and usually wealthy) collectors. This music is vital.
